Course Description
Effective team leadership and skillful facilitation are key qualities of any manager tasked with the responsibility of leading groups.
Managers, project leaders, supervisors, and team coordinators are all responsible for molding a collection of individuals from different
backgrounds and functions into a high-performing unit. This workshop teaches team leaders the keys for success in aligning, motivating,
and managing teams. Our proven facilitation process provides several tips and techniques to keep the group focused, address problem
behaviors, and optimize the problem-solving and decision-making capacity of the team. This is an essential skill set for those who
lead any group or meeting.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Build a team charter and launch plan to align team members on purpose, outcomes, deliverables, and boundaries.
Define the team leader, facilitator, and sponsor roles to assure clear expectations and maximize contributions.
Facilitate effective group discussions through meeting process, ground rules, and interaction techniques.
Apply team problem-solving and decision-making tools to bring out the best thinking of the group.
Target Audience
Executives, managers, project leaders, front line managers responsible for leading meetings, task forces, project teams, leadership
teams, and others in supervisory positions. Any functional team would benefit from their manager’s participation if a stronger
team culture is desired.
Learning Methods
This is an instructor-led session that uses presentation, individual practices, small team practices, and application activities.
Manuals are provided for each participant. Application tools are also provided to help participants transfer the acquired skills back
to the job.
Duration
The training duration is two days. The course may be divided into two, single day modules.
