Conflict Resolution Skills
Course Description
There are multiple causes of conflict in an organization: competing priorities, resource limits, divergent strategies, or personality clashes. The ability to effectively handle discord and confidently bring individuals, teams and organizations together is a critical skill for managers and team leaders.

We provide training based on the principles of collaboration and compromise. A combination of communication and problem-solving techniques provides participants with the means to resolve conflict without becoming embroiled in it. Each participant will work through an array of actual conflict scenarios to acquire and practice the skills necessary to minimize dissension in the workplace.

Objectives
Upon completing the training participants will be able to:

Recognize conflict and how it is handled differently from disagreement.

Learn appropriate probing and listening skills to diffuse tension and determine the underlying causes of the conflict.

Apply a level-setting process to examine conflicting positions and seek common ground to resolve points of contention.

Contract with all parties to commit to closure by agreeing on and abiding by actions that solve the problem.

Ensure the learning from conflict resolution prevents repeat episodes of conflict.

Target Audience
Executives, managers, team leaders, supervisors, and project team managers.

Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course.

Learning Methods
This is an instructor-led session that uses presentation, individual assessments, discovery exercises, instructor feedback, small group practices, and post-session follow-up. Materials and planning tools are provided for each participant with models, checklists, and application aides to help transfer skills to daily use after the initial training.

Duration
The training duration is four hours or up to one day, depending on the number of participants and level of application practice desired.
